You Can Talk 2 People is a walk-and-talk RPG that puts you in the shoes of Joyce E. Deville, who has just accumulated one million dollars of debt. Worse, a Very Annoying Guy blew up your friend, and as such must be destroyed.

When you boot up the game, the first things you'll notice are the excellent dialogue and characters. The hilariously surreal interactions you share with anything from happy-go-lucky barghests to literal rantsonas will catch you off-guard in all the best ways.

No humans though. Because they're all super dead.

Characters play off each other a lot, but that's not ALL there is. This high-octane talkage is broken up by unique, in-world combat encounters that are fast, intense, and skill-based - allowing you to gain an advantage by using items that foes are weak to, and aiming your attacks (like, with a reticle) at vulnerable body parts. Wanna punch a Yule Cat in the nuts? You Can.

Even this demo is incredibly feature-rich, providing the player with many options;

  • You Can Talk To People
  • You Can Talk To Plants
  • People Can Talk To You
  • You Don't Have To Talk To People If You Don't Want To
  • You Can Talk To You
  • People Can Talk To People

You Can Talk 2 People was not designed with minors in mind. So if you are an infant baby, or making your infant baby play this game, I would first consider the unlimited potential this game has to destroy an infant baby's brain.

That said, if it's a big fan of 'Sam & Max' or 'Disco Elysium', it'll get a kick out of this. If not then simply trade the infant baby in until you get one that is cool.

The game thus far has been a one-person effort, save for music courtesy of Kurio Kelsey. You Can help development by joining the Patreon- which, at higher tiers, will add YOUR OWN CHARACTER to the game. If you find yourself loving the world, why not make your mark on it?

Also, being a solo developer with a small team of testers, the game is sure to have the occasional bug and bit of jank. You Can help out for free by joining the official Discord, which has channels for reporting bugs and providing feedback.

Now go! Unzip the file below, and experience talkage unlike any other!

Skipped trough every single dialogue, do not understand the story at all.

Friend of the previous comment; awesome game. A batshit cast of blorbos, with every character bringing their own unique queer charm to the table! Interactions with the characters, whether idly or through quest routes, are so fun to discover, with solid worldbuilding and tons of humour sprinkled in. Both the quests and the dense systems of combat allow a surprising amount of player expression, and I feel like even as a demo this game is best enjoyed with an extra repeat playthrough just to fully absorb all the silly outcomes and referential humour you might've missed on the first run through

For people who don't read massive blocks of text, I don't think there's a single woman or femme-presenting character in this game that I wouldn't kiss. My gay ass will never be the same again...

Read aloud with a friend as we played, now I'm stuck talking like yakko warner.

10/10, a cast of perfect women that filled me with enough sapphic intent to raze a small city

delighted to hear ya had a good time with it! more is coming, soon...

Seems to softlock for me after beating Tammy and Bucky.

thanks for reporting. the newest version has demolished Tammy's gay baby jail.

Cool! I really liked the art style and character designs. A fullscreen option would be nice though.

(+1)

thank you! a fullscreen option is currently in the game, in the title screen and in the task menu.

Yay!

The good: I liked just about every character. Exploring this bizarre world and uncovering all the zany interactions is fun and rewarding. I laughed, often.

The not-so-good: The combat system seems, well, intimidatingly overdesigned. Having to search through multiple menus to figure out what my options are and being overwhelmed by choice isn't great. I ultimately couldn't really figure it out and got stuck when I couldn't progress past any combat beyond the tutorial one. Ironically, there's also not enough of it; the searching and dialogue start to drag when they're not being broken up by any other gameplay.

Recommendation: You have more features than you need. Instead of trying to juggle everything, slim the system down and focus on just a few solid core mechanics. You've got something good here; keep at it!

thank you for writing! the first chapter is more dedicated to resource-gathering and introducing all the characters than combat. in future chapters the dynamic is flipped - more fights and quests, resources are far more scarce. still, there are plans to add a couple more fights to this first chapter before moving on in development. and yes, the fights are rather difficult - in a future version i might tone them down a little, but the intention is for you to take advantage of an enemy's weaknesses and use statuses that counter their statline/strategy.

thanks again! i will keep your notes in mind as i work more on the game.

This demo is fun, gorgeous, gay, and some kind of fourth thing that combines cute and funny.

(+6)

i'm trying to think of what the fourth thing could be but every time i do a goat shoots me with lasers. weird.

Yo this thing is a good thing it is.
